I met Karen one night back in December of 2016. She introduced me to flavored Ciroc and sours & I introduced her to my brain. She instantly had a way of getting my ideas onto paper. She helped me by designing a logo for my writing not even a month after meeting her. Since that night in December, we’ve bounced our creative ideas off each other, discussed reality television, & swapped dating stories.
After taking photos for a little, it was time for a logo. I wanted one that represented ME. So I wrote my name out a hundred times and Karen took my writing and Karen-ized it. I loved it. It was me, but professional.
A couple years went by & 2019 was approaching. I figured the beginning of a year was a great opportunity to refresh my brand. I told Karen it was time. I knew I wanted something more mature but had no idea what direction I wanted to go in. I found a couple ideas & sent them to Karen but didn’t LOVE anything. It didn’t take long for her to bust out some ideas of her own. We narrowed it down to a couple & she asked me which one I wanted to BE. She told me, “They’re both serious and playful and I think that shows in your photos too and who you are. You can be both. And they’re inviting.” After that, I knew which one I wanted to BE. So, I’d like to introduce you to the 2019 me:
If it’s possible for you, I highly recommend building a relationship with the person who is responsible for the creative visual side of your brand. It makes for an enjoyable work experience & a more personal outcome. Thank you Karen!
